MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENTS
Tournaments, though not enforced as a part of the Isshin-Ryu syllabus, are encouraged to "reveal character". Tournament exposure gives the student a chance to "meet and mix" with other students from other styles as well as creating an opportunity to perform in front of audiences, thus breaking down the "embarrassment" barrier.
